The polar vortex last Monday has given the muskies lockjaw. We need the water temp to go up another 5 degrees before we see a good bite. Hopefully, the hot weather arriving tomorrow will trigger some action. Muskies are arriving along the north shore but I cannot get them to strike. I have cancelled many trips in the last 2 weeks as it is always gusting strong winds making the north shore unfishable and unsafe to take kids.

Muskie bite is picking up. This week a 56 inch was caught on west side, a 55 inch was caught by Red Door, and a 54 inch was caught in Sunset Bay. We boated a muskie just shy of 50 inches yesterday and a really fat huge pike.

If you are coming to Mille Lacs Lake to fish muskie work the weed patches. The sand and mud bite is a tougher bite right now. Deep rock and gravel kicked out a few. Most big girls are in the weeds. Good luck and post some pictures!

Last trip out we had 14 hits, boated 8 muskies and northern pike. We have received complimentary lures from 2 new tackle companies. We will be trolling most of the north flats and down to 8 mile flat and Boot flat. These are deep diving self tuning muskie lures. Friend me on Facebook to follow the action!
