Jerry was out about 1 mile today on the ATV and found 9 1/2" of ice but water shows up in all of his tracks. Also found some slush areas. He did find 12" in closer but it's the first ice that formed, then a layer of water and then ice so it hasn't frozen solid after flooding. Snowmobile is the best means of travel and recommend chains on ATVs or it will be tough going.
Big Daddy's ice report.... It's snowing, we're still waiting for the ice to grow, not quite there yet! He might start plowing with the jeep this week to check things out, but no set date for pulling houses yet. So for now... Grab a beer(or shot)and and enjoy some holiday cheer!! As always we'll keep you posted, pray for the snow to stop!
I know everyone is anxious for another ice report and to get out on the lake. Not a lot has changed, we received about 5 more inches of snow last week and it's snowing again today. Big Daddy said there is about 11 inches of ice and hopes to begin plowing by New Years. It's a big slush hole out there with all of the snow, but he would like to plow as far out as 1 1/4 reef. Have a very Merry Christmas everyone and as always, we'll keep you posted!
Good news folks... We're officially on the Ice! The Boys have been busy plowing and have a road out to the 1 1/4 reef. There is 11 1/2 inches of ice on average. They pulled out two of our rental houses today, but as you can see by the photo, it's pretty sloppy out there. We ARE NOT allowing any vehicles out at this time, only snowmobiles and ATV's. Safety first! For our rentals, we will transport people to and from the houses with our jeeps and trailers. We'll keep the updates coming as we know more! Have a fantastic weekend!
Latest and greatest... We currently have 8 rental houses out and anywhere from 11-13 inches of ice. We're not allowing anyone to drive out yet, but we'll keep you posted. Hopefully soon! We're currently out as far as 1 1/4 reef. Happy New Year!
Good News - roads are open to 1/2 ton or smaller vehicles. Road will only go to 1 1/4 reef for now.
Wheelhouses can be pulled out with 1/2 ton or less but WILL need to have us plow a spot for you so you are well off the road or you will flood everything.
Portables can park on the road but must walk in at least 75-100 feet before drilling holes.
You ABSOLUTELY MUST drive slow so the roads stay useable and in good shape for everyone.
