The Red Door Resort Fishing Report 8-15-13

The fishing report around the resort has been pretty quite. Talk of the muskie action has become part of the conversations! Some have caught a few lunkers and others have lost them while having them on for a short while on their walleye rigs. One customer got a 40lb class fish next to the boat, only to have it make yet another spash and in doing so broke his leader.

The walleye reports are coming from trolling lead core rigs out on the deep mud flats. Rapala shad raps and tail dancers have been putting some fish in the boat. Looking for fish on your locators will be the key to success. If your experiencing a blank screen keep looking till you locate some fish. One location might have fish one day only to have them move another. The smallmouth reports have been ok. Those that have spent the time have had some success. Topwater plugs will be the lure of choice as we get into the late summer-fall seasons. The water temperatures have been falling into the upper 60's.

Time to make your fall trolling plans. The full moon's can be a great time to spend on the water. Many big walleye are caught during this time frame.

Thanks Bobber, that sounds like a good accurate assessment.

Some days you have to just have a cold one and see what the Lake gives ya.
