From NWS weather for Isle, Mn

Saturday Mostly sunny, with a high near 51. Breezy, with a northwest wind 15 to 20 mph, with gusts as high as 30 mph.

Whenever they say 15-20, I just add the 2 numbers and that is what we usually get.

Do not ever underestimate the power of Mille Lacs Lake - wind and waves or wind and ice.

Mille Lacs lake does not take prisoners; it will kick your ass. MM.

Yup--main lake ice piles should show up--finally---late tomorrow and through Saturday--and then if it's not out, ( I doubt it will be) the north end will get blasted Monday/Tuesday with ice coming in with a long ways of open water to build speed and force with. The Monday/Tuesday big south winds could do it in with it piled into the tree tops on the north end.

Will this be the year the main home at Doc's Resort on the north end gets taken down by the ice as it did in '65? Boat houses along shore on the north end smashed? Harbor mouths filled with piles of ice on the north end? The road east of Myr Mar Marina blocked by ice? The wind forecast is set up for that potential.

Stay tuned...--
