Was out on the lake Saturday and if you were up there you know what I mean.... I had shingles blowing off my house another house up there had part of his roof ripped off. Wow, I been up there during some bad storms but I do not remember wind like that. I watched the resort trucks pulling house and they were blowing all over the place. If anyone finds a Cabelas auger bag (last seen heading SE at about 40 MPH) its mine .
Fishing was slow. Bit, we manged to get 4 keepers...
I was on a Local Central MN Lake, catching some crappies... you could almost see the wind coming... when it hit, we watched 2 spear houses go blowing by on their way to the south end of the lake. Brutal is the word that comes to mind !

I agree. I was in a hurry to get set-up before the front came through, had a line down at 1100 Sat morning. Wouldn't you know I couldn't get a bite at prime-time, but from 7pm-11pm I caught 8 fish, 3 keepers. Certainly not on fire, but a lot better than I thought it would be at that time with the temps plummeting like that. Guess you never know when they will turn on!

It was a very very windy night. It caused me some minor problems and some concerns. I went out to fill the generator gas tank and couldnt take it and went back inside to put on more protective clothing. How fast was the wind blowing and or the wind chill. I would believe it was 40 mph wind.
It was blowing....when I would head into the wind with the lake truck. My rubber flap on the plow would blow straight up in the air blocking my sight.......you didn't want to blow and create any banks so i was running around with the blage up.
Surely 30+ during the midafternoon. With gusts even higher.
That wind was absolutely crazy... My generator shut off around 7pm on Saturday (full of gas still), brought it into the house to warm up and wouldnt you know my heater gave up as well shortly after. Thats Murpheys Law I guess. Ended up calling it a weekend as I didnt want to wait around too long working on things with the temps the way they were.
Earlier in the season my GF (first year fishing) asked why I pay the resorts for their roads when there isnt any snow on the ice. She completely understood when we were going stake by stake trying to drive 4 miles off the ice in the dark with almost no visibility saturday night.
My brother rebanked the house on sat am b4 the wind hit, caught a 36" northern abt 4pm, then hit a few big non-keepers that night in the brutal wind. We always keep the generator in back of a pickup, out of the wind and blowing snow. We have had a couple of friends leave their Honda's on the ice in blowing snow, and they froze up due to all the snow blowing getting sucked in.
We hit the lake friday thru sunday and must have been on "THE" spot cause we had 30+. They were like clock work every half hour or so, from sun up till about midnight all three days. God I love the sound of a rattle reel.
