Heavy snow expected across a large part of the Northland late Saturday night through Sunday evening.

A large portion of the Northland can expect snowfall totals in excess of 6 inches from late Saturday night through Sunday evening. Anyone with travel plans or other outdoor activities planned this weekend should monitor the latest forecast for additional details.

  • Location: North Central Minnesota.
  • Timing: snow will begin Saturday evening and taper to flurries by late Sunday afternoon or early evening. The Heaviest snowfall and most rapid accumulations are expected generally from 3:00 am Sunday morning, through noon Sunday.
  • Snow accumulations: 6 to 8 inches.
  • Winds and visibility, due to gusty winds, some minor blowing and drifting snow may occur. Visibility may be reduced to less than a half mile at times.
  • Impacts: travel conditions are expected to rapidly deteriorate Saturday evening, with snow covered roads persisting into Monday morning in most areas.
