Water temp at 55. Anything to speak of going on with the bite?

Big moon this weekend. Fish are moving in shallow. I fished 11 feet last night (58 degree surface temp.) Alot of small walleyes caught, so that's usually prelude to the big bite, but there's still ALOT of forage for 'em. Big fish was only 25" with only 1 in seven ratio of keepers. (unless ya got a tribal card, then you can keep anything.)

Yeah, moon was great and even during the day been seeing them swim by in 4 FOW.  Were you on structure in 8 feet like rocks or just sand and if you could see them I assume you were bobber fishing and if so what time of night?  We are coming up this weekend and fish around Agate, got 3 keepers last Saturday night with 2 too big on Agate in 14 FOW bobber with leech.

Rocks on one of the shallow reefs. (Can't get more specific for reasons of security).

(Like you won't see a 52 foot pontoon painted Traffic Yellow)

I'd use my Romulan Cloaking Device, but I don't want boats running into me in the dark. You'll see me out there this weekend.

Way to Go Jon, smilesmilesmile

Good luck on the reef. The cloaking device is not gonna do it. Too much high vis yellow.

MM wishes he was there. The Bomber Boat is in the Malmo garage right now -- so that is a bummer.

have fun...

Saturday 10/6 surface temp 54 degrees w/2 foot rollers all day and night (until midnight) Caught 31 with only 8 keepers and a couple jumbos. Cold winds have scattered the biomass all over the shallow reefs. Marking fish everywhere from 17 FOW down to 8 FOW. Still an overabundance of baitfish that combined with the cool air temp made the bite a slow one for everyone. Had to work for 'em, but the work paid off for those with patience.

Big fish was 27 and 7/8. The ones I cleaned all had minnows in their stomachs. Rainbows were working on teardrop glow jigs and bobbers. Leeches were working too, but they're getting hard to come by (and small).

The 12 year old has hockey everyday this week but wednessday. Anyone want to fill in for me so I could get out one more time? I could talk the youngest 2 into quitting for ice fishing, but the 3rd boy has too much talent and an adiction to the game. I guess I have my later years to look forward to outdoor time.

Well my dad and brother in law came up from Chicago to hit the hot bite.  We went out early yesterday morning, froze our ass for one 18 inch walleye that we reluctantly through back for the nets in the spring.no
