A boat can now be driven from Garrison to Isle. The line of ice is from about Cove northwest to Pike Point. There is ice west of that line. In other words, at least 75 percent of the lake is ice free! The rest surely will be gone later today/tonight.
NO DOUBT--official ice out should be March 26th, 2012.

Amazingly, they doubted my viewpoint today and sent Rob Passons to see for himself. But then he didn't know, looking from Garrison, where Isle was!
And then he says'''there is slush floating between here and Isle on a line...a few yards out from the shore so no ice out!" LOL So then he says Garrison Creek Marina isn't Garrison! There was some slush a few yards wide out from MacDonalds/the concourse.......
I tried to bet him a grand that I could take him on a line from Garrison to Wahkon via GPS and he wouldn't bite...
So? Who knows what they wiil report. LOL LOL

Thanks for your prefessional and objective work as always.
I think the Messenger was afraid Malmo Mike might email them (again)with the digital images taken by my Mother today (Malmo Mom -- Jackie).
Nevertheless, here is what the Messenger now says thanks to Steve:
From MESSENGER current news online 03-26-12:
'After a crazy day of exhaustive research, conflicting reports, and changing conditions, the Messenger declares ice out between noon and midnight on Monday, March 26!'
'Beth Simpkins Scozzafave is the winner of our ice-out contest. For the dramatic details of the Messenger's ice-out chase, see the March 28 Messenger!'
Russ, WTG dude.
That is a great shot with you and walleye and the ice. That should win a heckuva catch and release photo prize. COOL.
Awesome man.
I have the walleye fever bad.

Just so they do not need to agree with a "Fellegy". The MM will say tomorrow
Boy it went quick. From me being up this weekend and still seeing alot of ice. That wind from the North that started Saturday evening sure got it going. The boat was a fun little adventure. Not much fish to show for it though except those pesky walleyes...All released of course.
