(Unless they give us "leniency" like the DNR says.)
Yeah! Like THAT'LL happen.
Let's fight back...........by helping Steve's efforts on OUR behalf. I, for one am tired of having our lake ruined by Wisconsin blond-haired "indians" wiping out the spawning walleyes I make my living with.
Here's an excerp from the DNR:
6262.0550 WATERS WITH RESTRICTIONS ON TAKING FISH.
The commissioner may modify seasons and limits under Minnesota Statutes, section 84.027, subdivision 13, or sections 97A.0451 to 97A.0459, to accommodate tribal declarations for fish harvest in the 1837 Ceded Territory in compliance with the court ruling in Mille Lacs Band of Chippewa v. Minnesota, 119 S.Ct. 1187 (1999).
ACCOMMODATE????????WHAT????
It's like we're in the frickin' Twilight Zone here, fer crissakes.

Good news good news! Good timing too. The nets unfortunately will be going strong at this time which will only fuel the whole deal all the more. I, we and most importantly, Mille Lacs thanks you Steve!!!
Thanks Steve for all your hard work and effort. There are many people, including myself, that strongly support you. Thanks for carrying the flag for all of us who also really care about Mille Lacs and equal rights for all. Freedom isn't free. When someone stands up for the silent, the least we can do is help you pay for legal expenses. Good luck.
Would it help for about 500 of us to go fishing that day on the lake ? Catch a few and consume them, to help us survive ? Just thinking out loud, to get the word out on what's happening in modern day America....

Would it help? Maybe. But one thing to consider, of course, you will have to defend yourself. So--you'd be perch fishing? Or do you keep and kill a walleye "during a closed season"?
Personally, I think we watch the one walleye case play out and create the media attention with that. But that said...I surely won't put down any effort in this regard. It's just a matter of how much into the fight you want. I have enough on my plate now....
More donations from me. Thanks for being the front runner on this Steve. I know once the lake starts opening up and the slaughter starts I will have a little comfort knowing something is in the works to stop the unequal rights and abuse of the resource.
It seems that the LCO considers all of us sport fishermen "invasive species". I don't know, but I think even the bleeding heart politicians were included in that. Check this out:
(By the way, the Ojibwe only arrived at Mille Lacs in 1755, after they massacred the remaining Dakota Souix that lived here peacefully. So if Dennis Banks wants to talk about DNA, theirs don't even belong here.)
Sounds like we're going to have the "Fishing with A.I.M." show on Mille Lacs this year, according to "BigChip" from one of the Wisconsin tribes that we love to host every year about this time.
