I have been fishin all winter and jumbo fatheads worked the best for me, lots of big fish as well as many limits of slot fish, my rattle reel set up is 30lb MONO line ''just because of the clearness and diameter'' to a swivel, from the swivel i use 6 lb test P-LINE, floralcarbon about a 2 ft leader , red, glow white hooks have been the best for me, i also use the ICE BUSTER foam bobbers, the small jigheads also work good because you dont need a split shot and its easier to remove the hook after you catch a fish, good luck to you i hope you enjoy your new wheel house, i will also be up there for the extravenganza,,,, hope to se everyone up there.........................good luck fishin
I'm flying back to chicago for my grandpas funeral tomorrow. My dad is driving me back up, and I will be taking him fishing on saturday. I hope this heavy snow doesn't effect things too much!
In the permanent, we have been getting most of our fish on Rainbows. Fatheads and Suckers have produced some fish, but not nearly as many as the Rainbows. The lines with plain hooks have caught the most, but green, white, and blue jigs have caught fish too. Don't be afraid to set a line 3-4' off the bottom.
