Fishing Report 10-11-11

The walleye fishing on Mille Lacs Lake has really been pretty good over the past week. The activity in the fish cleaning shack continues to show signs of the success that our guests at The Red Door Resort have been enjoying. The fish are being caught on Shad raps, River Rockers, and stick baits such as husky jerks. Trolling in 6-10 fow has been the best depths to target. The weather continues to provide some comfortable warm evening’s on the water. The surface water temperatures has been around the 59-60 degree mark. The lead core action is also another option during the daytime hours. Trolling small crank baits continues to put fish in the boat out along the break lines in 26-28 fow.

Thanks Bobber.  Was out last night enjoying the full moon, and so were the fish.  Had great action with lead in about 20-22' - even late night!! AWESOME!  I can't remember sitting in my the boat this late in year with just a sweatshirt on.  I'm dragging butt at work today, but it was more than worth it!

was up Saturday for day shot, the clouds and wind helped significantly keeping those fish closer to shore and a little more shallow than 25 foot. did well with nice sized rainbows under corks in 13-15 until about noon than slipped off a little deeper from the reefs having more success on inside turns for the rest of the day.
