Here are some decent slot size walleyes that Malmo Mike caught in 22.4 fow on long snell Leech rigs on Friday and Saturday on the Agate Bay reef; there were no monster walleyes caught on the reef -- but at times the bite picked up and a good number slot fish were caught.
There were a lot of fish distributed across the reef areas on my Lowrance HDS so that made it FUN. The best results and fish locations were from 21.8 to 22.4 fow.
Malmo Mike worked hard each day and got a limit all slot size fish. ANother weekend of great times on Mille Lacs.
We had a great time on the Pride of Mille Lacs with Captain Tat2Jonnie Thursday night at Hunter's Point -- as well -- on Two Mile Reef and Flamingo areas. Thursday night the bite was slow and then it picked up Friday and Saturday as Malmo Mike was trackin' em down on the Lowrance HDS.
I caught 4 times the walleyes on my own boat -- than I did on the Thursday night launch at Hunter's Pt. even though Captain Jonnie worked his butt off -- but they were not biting without dynamite on 2 mile reef. Honets
I got three GOOD slots and one small slot badly hooked - Agate Bay gravel bar.
Launch Score = 0 walleyes 6pm until 10:30pm.
Malmo Mike's Score = 4 slot keepers (one was small.)
That is why it is called fishing right? They sure tasted good though.
We only got 17 fish that night. The walleyes heard Malmo Mike was in town, so they scattered. Tried to chase 'em down, but we couldn't hook Mike up. (We did get a chance to do a little BSin', though.)
Yup -- Jon and I had a great time but he was working his butt off. There was plenty of BS and cold ones for the fisherman in the bow...yep that's where Malmo Mike was.
I just could not get a bite Thursday night...that sucked.
BUT That's fishing. The next day I am at Agate Bay and they are biting at times and I was not about to get skunked. So I caught three nice ones and fianlly a small fourth slot fish...
That's my story and I am sticking to it.
Then I went back to Malmo and power washed the bugs of the siding! UGH a BUG.
