I actually run both of them on my boat. Both of them have some issues with what is on the chip and what is really there. So depending on what structure I am on will determine what chip to use. Can't really go wrong with either one IMO.
I have both as well, but I use my Lakemaster chip exclusively now.
What kind of GPS do you have? I run a Humminbird most of the time and with the Lakemaster chip I can select a depth range to highlight on the chip. For example, if I'm running at night I can highlight 5' or less in red and just avoid those areas with a simple glance at the GPS. If I'm trolling a break and catching my fish in 18-20 feet I can highlight that depth range and just stay in that zone.

I just ordered today the new Lake Master Lowrance insight HD chip for MN.
It gives you traditional 2D viewing, + some really cool 3D viewing options (like with Countors and without), Like anything, it's a upgrade, and so is it's cost.
Here is a link you can check out forself if you wis.
I have the Lowrance HDS unit with the Lakemaster chip. Reed's Sporting Goods in Onamia gave me a great price on the chip by the way. I recommend that chip as do alot of good folks. Howvere, the chip cannot find Sasquatch (it is an Ertl joke by the way.)
You can always ask Walleye Wanda? HA! I have to get her PFD fitted for those big boobs. ya know? Tough job but Malmo Mike is up to it.
Thanks Wade. The Lakemaster was recommended to me as well and that is what I went with..It will be fun learning the HDS-7 rig and seeing how it does at different speeds on the water.
