After this warm up what are the Ice conitions?

Is there snow left, standing water?

Would it be smart to open up the banking around the houses to get the colder air moving through?

Do we need to bring our Ice Skates?

When do the shacks need to be off this year?

AND oh yea,  HOWS FISHING?

So many questions-so little time!   confuse

No standing water on the lake this morning. Can get around pretty well out there now. It is kinda slick around the shacks.
Everything looks a ook out there right now. Perch bite is good for those moving around staying with them. drill, drill, and drill some more.

We will begin pulling house on the 27th. So have them ready then.

Thanks Doug,

Be up tomorrow...

It's probably a good idea for me to unbank the house, I don't know if I will make it up again before the 27th.

Seems like we just pulled the houses out!!

Come on Perch!!

I went snowmobiling north of Stillwater this morning...should have used a 4 wheeler. Damn the snow went fast along the roadways!  Beat me to deathfurious

Thanks Doug,
Good report.
I will see you and Scott and the 'gang' on February 25th -26th.
For FUN follow Malmo Mike and the 'gang'.
Thanks for all your help, Doug.
The videos are too cool.
I spoke with Scott yesterday on our house rental for those days -- in case a guide house opens up. (Yeah, in my dreams I know.)
See you Feb 25th.

So much FUN to have and so little TIME.
Malmo Mike has walleye fever bad.
Plus a new boat. (Boat Number 1 is in Colorado).
You can never have too many boats for open water season.

Just came off the lake, most of the slush on the roads is in the first 1/8 mile of access. Everything out on the lake looks like good fishing conditions. You will be able to get around fine out there with vehicles as well as snowmobiles for the time being. There is still enough snow for the hifax lube but it is pretty firm. It would have been a great day for hole hopping and pulling up those jumbos. Temp on shore was 49 and when I was out on the lake I had 36.

Thanks Doug,
Good information and report.
I still have walleye and jumbo fever.
Sounds like there is only one cure -- I must go catch 'em.

I was up on Sunday and didn't need an extension.  I doubt there has been any ice made since then.  I think you should be fine with the 4 wheeler as well.  The only trouble spots might be getting over the banks off the plowed roads.

I was out yesterday morning pretty much as far out as you can take the main road to the flats (Midget) with no issues at all. In fact, there were very few places that I could not drive with a passenger car.

hey thanks for the help guys !!!! I was up there over the weekend and there wasnt anyplace i couldnt go with a wheeler. I did need the extension in places. thursday met me with 4 to 8 inches of water on the ice and a sloppy mess. what a difference a day makes i went out again friday after an overnight cool down (ok it was fricken cold) and was greeted to a complete freeze down. not just crust on the top and break thru but a complete freeze down. you wouldnt have been able to tell it was standing water the day before. i sure hope those that needed to jacked their houses up otherwise they are in for some hard work.

There is about 3 inches that fell during the night, so there's some banking snow, now.
