I have a 2 year old Marcum VS820 that is in "Like New" condition. This is a black and white flat screen. Great unit that I just don't use much on the river.

Looking to get $450 out of it...reduced to $400

The Battery is in real good condition...I put a charge on it a couple times thru the summer to keep it fresh,,,

The charger will blink red while the battery is charging and solid green when it is a full charge..

If I send you a Cashier's Check/Money Order would you ship it to me out here in Washington State?  Maybe put it in one of those USPS "If it fits it ships" boxes?

Do you do Paypal ?
Otherwise it takes 7 to 12 days to clear a Money Order/Cashiers check.

Not a big fan of Paypal but have no problem with sending you a Cashier's check and waiting for you to clear it before sending me the unit.  In my experience most real fisherman (and you certainly sound like one) are very honest.  Alternatively could do a wire transfer to your bank if you prefer.

Perhaps I should have said "Most fisherman are very honest about everything BESIDES the size and number of fish they have caught"biggrin

ecnook,

Cashier's Check will go out first thing tomorrow after I get to the bank.

What is a "bump board"?

Our fishing out here is quite different from yours.  Mostly salmon, steelhead, trout, Sturgeon,  etc.  Walleye have only become a targeted species fairly recently on the Columbia River.  Supposedly we have some big ones as evidenced by the biologists that shock the water periodically and brag the next world record will come from here.  A couple years ago I caught a walleye on accident while fishing for steelhead.  Had no idea what it was.  When the guide told me how good they were to eat, I was skeptical.  He was correct

Few Crappie around and no real ice fishing although I must say looks quite comfortable.  Sort of like drilling a hole in one's great room and dropping a line into itsmile

Last spring got my first taste of Midwest fishing.  Some friends in Minneapolisis invited me back to fish with them.  Drove to a place in Canada called Lac Seul (sp?) where I was introduced to Walleye fishing with the occassional Pike and Musky tossed in.  What a kick!!!!!   Learned about shore lunches while gaining about 10 lbs.  Smoked my first cigar, used live bait for the first time since Marlin fishing and in general just had a wonderful time.  Cannot wait to go back again this Spring.

You guys back there have it good!!  Looking forward to seeing how the Marcum works out here.

Lyle

Lyle ,

I appreciate your understanding my concern on payment.. There are to many people out there that just are not as honest as they seem..

Your going to love this camera !!

When I recieve your check i will get into the system asap. My wife works at the bank and knows how to get this info asap.

I will ship it to the address you include with your check via USPS. Insured and proof of delivery .

Consider this unit sold pending payment

Thank you for the information.  Have fished all over the world and love learning about how people handle things in their areas.  When I fished in your "neck of the woods" last spring I learned about "slot fishing" and how Walleye between certain measurements need to be released.  Each boat had a system similar to yours where one could quickly measure a fish and then decide to let it go or keep it based on local regulations.  As I call could keep one "over slot" and 5 "underslot" fish per day.  Here on the Columbia we have a reverse thing with our Sturgeon.  Only "slot fish" can be kept.  So the small fish and the big fish must be released while fish of a certain measurement, in the middle and varies year to year, can be kept.  We most often deal with "native" v. "non-native" (hatchery) fish.  The adipose fin's presence determine whether we keep or release salmon and steelhead.

Hopefully am not boring you all to tears.  Simply enjoy learning about how anglers the world over enjoy our wonderful addiction.  This is how I learned and observed that that fisherman in England often "warm" maggots in their mouths before using them for bait and that a Tiger fish is NOT a variation of the Pirahna despite the internetno.

The "check is in the mail".  Please let me know when you receive it.

Kind regards,

Lyle

Lyle,

I will let you know when I get it and keep you abreast of the situation..

Great info from you.. I did the google maps of your area..The Columbia looks like an interesting river to fish..Do you find most of your fish hanging out behind the dams year around? Or just during certain times of the year ?

This is where I target fish in the spring and late fall , before the river freezes over.

Hey Dave,

Our dams are different here.  Most of our fishing is for migratory species in the Columbia.  This is one big-ass river being almost 1 mile across at some locationssmile.gif  The river seldom freezes over (last time was in the 20's?).  There are fish ladders at all major dams that allow Salmon (chinook, coho, and some sockeye), Steelhead, Shad, Eels and even Sturgeon to pass.  However, fishing within several hundred yards (clearly marked on the shores) is prohibitied to allow these fish to pass unharassed.  We have multiple fish hatcheries on the tributaries off the Columbia (the Deschutes River is one of my, and many people's, favorites) and fishing within several hundred yards of the entrances to these hatcheries is prohibited.  As I mentioned previously, fishing for Walleye and Small mouthed bass is catching on here.  Not nearly as good as in your region.  One of my patients was a competitive Small Mouth bass fisherman.  Talk about noncommunicative.  He would not even confirm he fished in watersmile.gif  Shad are a major game species in the Spring.  Incredible bait for the Sturgeon and amazing fishing due to the large numbers that show up here!

Have never fished for Perch.  Had a friend (died at age 88) from the Midwest who swore this was one of the best game fish ever.  Are they good to eat?  Look bony to me but hey, I never would have known how great dining Walleye is if I had not investigated further.  Also now know that Muskeyes are "the fish of 10,000 casts".  Sort of like trying to catch a Steelhead on a fly.  Currently I am around 7500 casts and still no steelhead but I can nail them with plugssmile.gif

Hmmm, an interesting product. I like to watch something on the monitor holding a cigar, as shown on the site smokeprofy.com/ and enjoying my life, while relaxing from a hard day. This is just heavenly pleasure, that's why I liked your product)

This is Malmo Mike,

Dave (ecnook) Koonce is good guy no matter what they say.

I bought an Otter portable pop up from him and it still works. Plus I catch all the fish following Jon Knudson around in the Malmo Bomber Boat or Tony Roach then hangin' out with the Ertl boys (and girls)

PS. I already had a digital Marcum that I liked --but the quality of this unit is good.

I will vouch? (spelling boys) for the guy. But he hangs out in Cheese head country a lot.

Have fun Malmo Mike
