My family and I weren't able to make it up to the lake until Monday. We decided to wait to go out until Tuesday because of the wind and rain. The 2 girls and I hit the water about noon and went out to the flats to try our luck with bobbers. By 3:30, we had went through our 2 dozen leeches. Of course there were a lot of misses (the girls still have a little work to do setting the hook), but all-in-all we boated 18 with 3 going in the box. Emelia, 7, had the biggest at 26". It was great, Claire was holding half of the rod while Emelia was realing it in. Claire, 9, had the biggest keeper at 17 3/4". If you've caught any fish in the 17-18" range you can appreciate the size of these fish. I don't have a scale, but I swear that thing had to be pushing 2 1/2# easy.
We had a couple boats around us running rigs that did not have near the success we were having. I'm not saying bobbers are the only way, but I think the bite has become more "centralized". I trolled around a bit until I found structure that had a lot of fish on the locator and got the boat right on top of 'em. These fish weren't spread out by any means. They held right to about a 20' radius. So, for those of you who wanted to know if they are still biting, they are.

I do have a question for you. As you sit on that "spot on the spot" how many other types of fish (perch, etc.) do you catch? Or was it strictly a walleye bite?
Things slowed down for us over the weekend. The places we had caught fish earlier in the week didn't pan out. So, we left the mud Friday for the rocks. We were able to muster up 5 keepers with about 5 or so returned to the water. This was my crap shoot spot on the 3 mile in about 20 fow. Luckily, it worked until dinner time. Saturday we didn't get much fishing in but went back to the mud for Sunday morning. We fished from 9:30a-1:00p with 2 of 7 in the box. I never did try spinners or anything; still corkin it. My fishing partners aren't quite ready for drifting/trolling, yet. Sorry no pics this weekend, I forgot the camera.
