The fishing this past week has been on the up side for this fisherman. It has also been on the down side with some days slower than others. I had the opportunity to share my boat with some great folks this past week. We boated some dandy fish with a 26 ½ inch walleye caught by Matt’s son Austin this past Saturday morning. Austin also caught a few smaller fish on his morning trip on the pond. I have caught fish this past week on the mud flats, southern gravel, and the rock to mud transition areas. We have been catching fish pulling blades, Lindy rigging and I even got the crank baits wet this week pulling leadcore with Barb and Terry. Barb is pictured holding a 22 inch walleye caught on leadcore hooked to a Lindy Shadling. The weather has been playing a big part in our success this past week. One day we would have a big blow and calm winds the next. The mud has been good with calm days, while the gravel has been good with the wind. The lower edges of the mud flats have been the areas that I have been getting bites while pulling blades. The 26-29 foot has been the best. Hammered gold, hammered silver blades have been good. Lindy rigging with 8+ foot leaders have been the best.
