Jon,

Do you use yours to re-open holes or just drill new ones?

I'm looking for something to re-open the holes in my house each week, but I heard yesterday that the fresh ice will cause the blades on the strikemaster to dull quickly.

Thanks.

I've re-opened a lot of holes, no problems.  The electric drill is the cats meow for a perm shack IMO.  No fumes to air out!  I have "heard" this also.  Not sure if its true.  I think part of it is the user.  You need to let the auger do the work.  I see guys laying thier entire body weight into the drill!   I suspect this would not be good on the lazer blade design.

We have been using the same strikemaster electric blades for 6-7 years!
Might sharpen then next year though.

Yep.  The electric and gas both use the exact same blade/auger.  Into year 3 and still cutting 100%.

Thanks Guys. It is always better to get info here, rather than from a saleman who is trying to get me to spend a few hundred more.
