Fishing report:
Our group headed out to the flats this morning after having breakfast at Hunters Point. We headed to one of the many mud flats that cover the northern 1/3 of Mille Lacs Lake. We started the morning on top lip of the flat around the 8 am hour in 27-28 FOW. Our group of seven were jigging a variety of baits. The 1/8 oz spoons caught most of the fish while some fish were caught on the new Lindy Darter and also the Lindy 1/4 oz. Slick Jig. We managed to put a few fish on the ice during the first few hours of the day. As the morning went on we started drilling holes looking for active fish. We found the fish moving about in the deeper edges as the morning turned into midday. We caught fish off the flat out in 32-34 FOW. The fish we kept were from just under 14 inches on up to just under 17 3/4 inches. The very first fish of the morning was caught by Craig, a dandy 27 inch walleye that was nice and fat! Our group released 20+ fish on this trip.

The day was a very enjoyable one, temperatures in the mid 20's, light winds.......and fish being caught!
all and all a good day!

I caught most of my fish on gold color lures.  The Lindy Darter, Slick Jig, and Rattl'n flyer spoon... all in gold, caught fish.  The fish in the video was nailed on a blue-gill colored Lindy Darter.  Jigged it aggressively 3-4 times... then let it sit for about 15 seconds.  Out of nowhere, during that pause, the fish came in, up, and just nailed it.  Didn't have to raise it.
