T.V. Reception

We have a cabin on the east side of the lake. I was wondering if a person can get any T.V. reception with a normal antenna? Thanks for the help and the ideas

we get 6 lame channels... pbs is one I know (this old house constantly) but I think we need to move the antennae.... in the mornings we get Fox9HD, then lose it later. We are halfway up the Eastside by Hunters Point. We are thinking of try a Dish, for the digital signal... anyone know if that works better ???

We ended up getting a dish.. as we also only received the 4 channels of PBTV. you have an option with Dish to only pay and receive local channels only. however they don't advertise this.

We have a dish too. We were getting bad reception and it's nice to have it the weather does not allow for any fishing. teevee.gif

We have Dish also at Castaway's. Just remember to mount the dish up high so it doesn't end up on someone else's fish house.

So my question, do you have a box with the dish ? I don't mean a convertor box, but an actual DirectTv or Dish Network box that you pay for monthly. Or can you just put up a dish and get regular TV ? I have DirectTv at home, but I am wondering if a dish would pull in the signal better than an old antennae. Thanks !!!

Yes I have the Dish box and pay monthly. I don't know if just the dish alone would give you a better reception or not. I've never tried it.

Oh-Oh you better go double check. Those Ertl boys can get it done in a flash! Maybe they will split the bill with you?

Though I haven't checked it, makes sense that you could only get the local channels, but I gotta believe that you would need a receiver and have to pay some type of fee from a satelite provider.
