love it. Blame him for lost games, and call him a free loader for jumping to a squad that can make a old retired guy look good when they win. perfect scenario.
I'm looking forward to it although I can't remember the last time I made a point to watch a vikings game. Too many fish to catch and game to kill that time of year.

Think I heard the purple shirts are suppose to have a good defense this year!? Probably what they will need to conteract the interceptions tossed up from #4.. Gotta admit he will sell some tickets and even I will be interested to see what happens.
Did anyone catch the coverage of KSTP helicopter flying over the SUV transferring #4 from the airport to winter park? (SUV driven by none other than Childress) I thought OJ was in there also. Then the crowd of people there waiting...how embarrassing to live in this state this day. Fire Childress NOW I say.
I am not even sure if I can watch the purple this year. They will do well in my opinion but it won’t be because of Favre. The running game and Defense is in place to get some wins already. Good thing they have those things going to offset all the picks #4’s going to be flinging.

I thought the president came to town. This sure is getting some press and I think that Favre likes it like that. Anybody who thinks the Vikes will be better because of this is wrong. I agree with Doug that the team was strong without him and because of that will have a good year.
That note had me rolling on the floor regarding the SUV Favre ride Doug. Sorry I missed it here in IA. Surprised (kinda) they didn't close the freeways for a nice casual 50 mph police escort! Don't miss the live press coverage at 5 PM today!! I'm sure the Hunter's Point bar will be full with all TV's tuned and eyes glued!!
I for one am glad they are getting some national attention... and it isn't because of a boat trip or snowmobile ride I also think, anybody who thinks Sage or Tavaris are better quarterbacks or better leaders... well let's just say, i think we would have been in for another letdown this year. Not that we are guaranteed anything, but I can guarantee you, we have a future Hall of Fame quarterback taking the snaps this year I think it is going to make watching FUN again....
According to Judd Zulgad at the Star Tribune via Twitter they sold 2,000 season tickets and 6,000 single game tickets yesterday alone.
Not to mention that the Vikings online ProShop went down numerous times yesterday because of the demand for Favre merchandise.Â
This was a fantastic move...not only for on the field, but financially as well. Don't think for a minute that Ziggy didn't tell Chilly to give Favre a call after Mondays "rumors".
Another take on this is this:Â This was very carefully planned a month ago and a chosen few knew that Favre wasn't going to be at camp, but would be here after the first pre-season game.
Either way, this will be a fun team to watch. Expect a lot of those noon games on Fox to turn into 3:15pm kick-off times for national TV when Fox has doubleheaders. Also expect NBC to pick-up at least one more Viking game with their "flex" scheduling.
I for one think this is great!!! Â As long time diehard Packer fan, I am still angry that Thompson & Favre couldn't get their S*** together two years ago. Â There was a simple solution to that summer to the Favre re/unretirement: Â You are competing for your job, period!!! Â They could have restructured Rodgers contract in a way to make it grow each year. Â And the two draft choices, well it is almost aleady clear that one of those two might not make it to the practice squad this year.
So, my favorite part will be all of the Favre interception haters. Â Was listening to talk radio this a.m. and they said statistically Favre was 4-1 in his last five games in the Dome with great percentages and a low interception rate including 300+ yards per game. Â Of those last five games only the .'07 Packer team had decent talent and experience to be favored in MN and I am not that they were favored.
This may be the first Viking team to have QB worthy taking them all the way, even at 40 years of age since Capp & Tarkenton!!! Â The O line has been together for three of four years and that was something that the Jets O line with all their new talent didn't have. Â The Vikings schedule is conducive to Favre staying warm almost all season with the exception fo a late season Bear game at Soldier. Â Stay healthy Vikings and be happy Viking fans, he will make you exasperated at times, but he will amaze as well!!!
One of our local stations televised all of the Jets games last year, so I am hoping that their schedules get split many times so I can tape both to watch after fishing and hunting.
And guess what, no matter what happens, be prepared for the retirement/unretriement deal again next winter, cause even with a two year contract, it will happen again!!! Â LOL!!!

That Phony. I loved the: I was sitting on the back porch with my daughter and she was crying saying daddy I want you to go back and win another superbowl. He says he can handle being chased around by 5 defensive lineman, but when his daughter cries, that's somehing different. So his daughter says she wants daddy to win another superbowl. So he throws on a dirty hat and flys into winter park and signs a 2 yr 25million contract. Oh,, and he and Childress hadn't talked since the 5th retirement conversation 3 weeks ago. What a bunch of BS. Your right Mark, next year the wishy washy gonna retirement talk will come up for sure. But this time I am sure Peter King, Jay Glazier and Mortenson will just go talk to his daughter to see what she wants daddy to do. Favre is leading Childress around by a leash now. What sport can you walk into and practice one hour and be named the starting QB. Win it all or your gone Chilly.
One thing, I think alot of people are overlooking. Having Favre, just being under center, will make Peterson that much better. Not only do you have a QB, who can read defenses and check down if needed, but also one who can improvise, quite well I might add. We may see ALOT of shovel passes this year, which when you give AP a shovel pass, in the open field... LOOK OUT !!!! I can't wait for opening day !!!
First off I feel for the Packer fans-I'd be P.O.ed too. I think that the Wilfs did this for many reasons, most of them fold and are GREEN! No that wasn't a Packers slam either. If he can help win a few more games and at least get the Vikes into the playoffs farther than the 1st round-he will be worth the over-bearing drama as far as the Wilfs presenting a better product to the legislature when they go to try to get public support ($$$$$) for a new stadium. It should be an interesting season none-the-less. Bring it on!
For all you Favre lovers. Here is a good way to save some coin.
It was a great game last night. Lots of people are calling it magical. What almost gets lost in the magic is that Jarad Allen and the Vikings won also.

Those announcers got a little ridiculous last night with all of their raving about Favre. I thought this was a two man team-Favre on offense and Allen on defense.

Great take on the game. Â There are always other factors, but those two were definitely on their game!!! Â Was kind of weird, as a huge Favre fan, I wasn't sure how I was going to react.... Â When Chilllar got the stupid tawnting penalty early in the game, I still knew I was packer fan, cause I was ticked at him for that kind of stupidity!!!

I am sure there are still doubters, but at 6-0, I can see a lot of Queen fans loving the fun that ol' number 4 is giving them this season. Â IMHO, there's at least two games that might not have been wins... Â
Packer Fan, Out!!!

I can kind of see Brett taking to the team now.... at first, he was kind of like the new kid in the sandbox.... he just played with the sand.... now he is starting to grab some toys and dig in, 6-0, I doubt we would be that with sage or tavaris ..... yeah, they probably won some games they shouldn't have, I blame it on prevent defense letting the other team back in, can't blame Favre for that.....
