Coming off one of the best first months of open water fishing on Mille Lacs and nobody has a thing to say. I would hate to see what would happen if the bite was nothing.
Does anybody agree that it was one of the best 1 months of fishing? Ranks in the top 3 for me out of the last 20 years.
It was a great month of May as Glen said, just wish I could have spent some time over there. Still looking forward to the July trip for the big three, 'eyes, musky or smb. Hope to get to put some real faces to the great pics that have been posted since I membered up.
While the pics are not from ML, they are testament to a great spring both in numbers and nice sized fish. Several 15" - 21" for the frying pan, with lots of 19" and 20" fish returned to the lake as well. There is nothing like a jig getting thumped in 3' of water and pulling a 27" from it. The last pic is a 27" laker, the walleyes are all 24" except the one self portrait in the dark which is 27". I haven't done much 'eye fishing since Memorial Day, either musky fishing or work has got in the way.
