Time for repair or replacement!!

It's that time of the year to look over your rods and reels for the open water season. Clean and lube the reels, check over the rods for cracked guides. A cotton q-tip works great for finding bad eyes! Some mild soap and water will clean off those dried up lake shinners stains from your late trip to Lake of the Woods!!

If you have any damaged areas on the cork handles on your rods! maybe the dog or cat did alittle damage?? I have a great fix for that!!

Fixing damage cook areas on your rod: A quick fix is to sand or file off some cork from an old damaged rod or even a wine bottle cork will do. Collect a small amount of this cork fines and mix with a small amount of wood glue. I use carpenters glue myself! Elmers or craft glue will work also. Mix the cork fines and glue and fill in the damaged areas on the handle. Let this dry well and sand off with some fine sand paper! Works great for the gouges that have been a problem in the past! After alittle sanding they will look and feel amost like new!

That's my tip of the day!
