I seem to be missing a lot fish on my rattle wheels this year. At first I put it off to small fish. I down-sized my minnows, but I still missing too many hook-sets. I'm using #8 short shank style single hooks on most of my wheels. Anyone have advice???
From what I have heard your not the only one. I talked to a couple guys at the formica flats a couple weeks back and they had that syndrome going then already. I have done nothing but jig so far this season. It's been along time since I spent the night on the lake with a rattle reel down. I missed my share jigging but I am 99% sure the spoon was 1/4 the size of the bite'er.
