The fishing this weekend was a bit tougher. The walleyes seems to be in their lathargic deep winter mood. Allot of walleyes on the flats not so many takers this time. Your best bet is to fish those prime time hours ealry AM and sundown for walleye then transition into some perch hunting for the daytime. The perch bite is going well with some nice jumbos being caught off the deeps edges of the mud flats try to get into that 32-34 feet. I also perched in some shallow water saturday for a coupe of hours. A ton of small perch in the shallows, but some bigger ones are starting to show up about 1 in every 10 is good for dinner, but that should pick up in the next few weeks, The rocks in the SE, Isle bay and Wahkon bay should get better over the next few weeks.
Good luck to all that are heading out.

Actually dead sticks went a litle better on the walleye, usually jigging spoons with a minnow is the ticket, as far as perch go a small jigging spoon like a doodle bug tipped with a small crappie minnow head worked well. Or hang 3 waxes or euro larvae one on each hook. I prefer the minnow head in case a walleye is around it seems to give me a better chance at picking the eye up.

Couple weeks back I couldn't find a fish on top or more than 100 ft off it. The little buggers where all in between. And they where little, some under 6".
