Despite the snowy and windy weather we have been having we are still maintaining roads to the Boot and Blue Jug, with a little bit of luck we are going to try to open up roads to other flats (Midget, Fishers, Sliver, 9 mile, etc.) Just remember with all of the snow we have up here now, it takes a lot of time to open and maintain the roads, so be sure to watch the weather very carefully. If it starts to get bad out get off the lake or at least come in closer, because it may take us a while to get out to plow you out. We have made alot of changes to our road systems in the past few days so be sure to stop in and get a map so you know where you should and shouldn't be driving. Overall the raods are in good condition out there, and should only improve with the guys working on them this week.
Other than that the fishing the last couple of days has been a little slower than previous days. But We have heard of and seen several BIG fish.
Some nice fish.Hmmm...Now I dont know if I want to come up fishing or snowmobiling.Keep us posted if you open up some new roads. If I come up I will go out of there.Definitly some of the best roads on the lake and some of the best drinks Either way I will probably stop and anchor up at Formica Flats for a while
Just wanted to give your road guys a BIG kuddos...... I was up on Fri. and your roads were awesome well worth the price of admission. Wish I had as much luck with the fish though.. Too darn bright out there on Fri. Keep up the good work... THANKS!!!!
I understand that the roads change a lot during a season, but is there any way to post a pdf file of the road system on this forum? With all the snow, it would be benefical to see how close roads are to GPS coordinates or structure to fish before heading up.
We could post a map with the roads on it, but here is the problem I see with that: Like you said the roads are constantly changing and being moved. We need people to come in and get the latest info on the conditions everytime they come up so we don't run into any problems, we do have a printed map here at the lodge that we continuously update that anyone can look at. Plus we need to know who comes on and off through our access in case anything does happen.
Understood Jason, and it makes total sense. I forgot about knowing who is on and off the ice! Plus, since people have to buy a road pass anyway you might as well give them updated road information.
