The MN DNR that issues the permits for the tournaments have requested changes to both George at Hunters and Fred at the Red Door. They called both George and Fred and basically told them they had to reduce the daily tournament limit??

Well to provide all the entrants in these events George has elected to go with two one day tourneys!!! The MN DND wanted to reduce the daily tourney limit to only four fish per boat. With the two one day tourney we will be able to have a 8 fish limit with 7 fish coming into the scales as a limit. This is what I have understood as the plan........It might come around alittle different.

Best to call the resort for the real deal.

I'm all for the change!!! Two one events are a great format! I would guess that the prize money will be split between the two days..........$4,000 for a one day win!!! not too bad of a deal.....

Hope to see you all there this weekend.

That seems like a better format. Why did the DNR want the change? Try and keep some pressure off the fish?

Pressure off of what fish!!! The creel surveys have to be in the tank this year. The DNR is pathetic. Two one day tourneys is a good deal. If you puke the first day, you still have the second to be a hero! The MTT format like that is great.

This format was good for everybody. With the two day we could only way weigh in 8 fish total. You could get all your slots and still not come close to placing. With 14 fish weighed over two days it will stretch out the field and giving you two opportunities to win twice if your consistant. Also with 7 fish per day you can over take that guy in no-mans-land that brings in one 1 fish (over 28). You'll still have to be the best boat for two days to get the hardware. See ya on the water
