This is a touchie subject. I read in a outdoor pub that there is going to be a bill up on 2 line fishing, WHAT THE HECK IS THE BIG DEAL?? your only allowed so many fish, and the way it sounds, they don't want you to keep any. Whats wrong with a fish fry once in a while. I'm not saying its right or wrong, but, in Mo. we can fish with up to 33 line, I've been here 16 years, been a live time MN residencesmile. Crappie have to be 9's or 10"s, limit 25, walleye 15"s limit 4. One thing about more than 1 line, it can be hard to do, so once again  "WHAT THE HECK IS THE BIG DEAL"hmm

I hope it passes but it is brought up in a bill every year and doesnt get passed.I think it would have very little if any effect on the lakes as you still have a limit.Every state around us you can use multiple lines and it dosnt effect them. The way I look at it if fishing is good you only need 1 line to catch fish.A good angler will still catch his fish with 1 line and a poor angler will still probably get skunked with 2.It can be difficult to run 2 lines in a lot of situations and in places where you can most people still only run 1.However in certain situations it would be nice to have the option of using 2.

I just got this email from my senator:

Thank you for your e-mail. I appreciate your letting me know your support for two-line fishing in Minnesota (HF 2610). It is always good to hear from you.

Unfortunately, HF 2610 did not receive a hearing this year in the Game, Fish & Forestry Division of the House Environment and Natural Resources Committee. Since there is no Senate version of the proposal, it is even more unlikely the bill will be heard this year. However, the legislative process is always fluid, and if the bill comes before me, I  support it.

Again, thank you so much for contacting me. Please continue to let me know what issues are important to you.

Sincerely,

Representative Denise Dittrich

District 47A

This gets brushed under the rug every year. When is this state going to wake up and smell the coffee.10,000+ lakes and one line well everyone around us has at least 2 and a lot less lakes.

Because we have politicians and attorneys running things and they are more interested in lining their pockets than anything else.If this state was run by Hunters and fisherman we would have a lot less problems.

Long as I am at it I am so sick of this country bending over backwards to make the minorities happy.Heres my saying. If you dont like the way things are here go the xxxx home!!!!OK I feel better now.

Here's the lattest from my representative....

Dear ______

Thanks for the continuing interest in the bill. Without a Senate sponsor, it will be difficult to pass this bill.  You may want to contact your State Senator, Leo Foley, as well as other senators who have sponsored similar "Fishing-friendly" bills.  If you belong to any sportsman's organization, you may want to urge your fellow members to do the same.  Legislators may be more likely to take action if they hear about a concern from multiple people, particularly constituents in their districts.

I hope this advice helps. Thanks again for writing.

Sincerely,

Representative Denise Dittrich
