It breaks my heart to announce that I have ended the "Take a Grandma" muskie fishing program. As a Capt. I made this extremely difficult decision because I simply could not guarantee their safety. Hooks, huge waves, and sharp teeth are extremely dangerous. The grandmas came in walkers and arthritis so bad they could not reel, They simply road along to enjoy the loons and eagles. When I called Irene to tell her, we both cried. It broke my heart to break her heart. Irene's best day was 3 muskies and a 43 inch northern. The warden told me the grandmas needed license. I told him to be in Malmo Bay 11 AM Wednesday and I want to watch him write 6 tickets to 90 year old ladies. He didn't show up. Irene Long went to the State legislature and Governor without my knowledge and changed the law. You do not need a license if you are 90 and over. "On the Road" with Jason Davis filmed the grandmas fishing muskies. I refused any tips from grandmas. I told them when they make a dessert to bring me a piece at the Post Office. Irene Long's fudge was so good I asked her to marry me. This brings tears to my eyes. Thanks for the awesome memories grandma's.
A grandma was taking pictures when 2 muskies hit at the same time, sat on my throttle, all grandmas went flying to the floor. I saw 2 muskies waterskiing. I shut it down, picked up the grandmas, netted both fish and released them. When I told the grandma "please do not sit on my throttle" they all giggled like schoolgirls. You could not write that script in Hollywood
