The bite has definitely improved since I was out last. We were able to boat these hogs and a half dozen others in a couple hours. We had mostly small fish again with one going in the box. There's no question that the fish we have caught are healthy.
I'm seeing alot of smaller walleyes. Out of 27 fish caught in my boat on Thursday, we had 3 over 20. 1 keeper 19.5 and 23 under 18, with many of those under 12.
No doubt, the night ban is responsible for the comeback of our small males, even with the water clarity!
Howdy Fishnpole, Thanks for the great update. WOW 23 out of 27 fish under 18 inches!
There is some good news there possibly. Happy Saturday anyway.
Any loose Wing nuts form the DNR following your boat? Watch out for Wing Nuts.
I am thinkin' the smaller male walleyes were using the latest Marcum (Clingon) Cloaking devices to hide under the launches until they saw the right kind of leech or shiner come by.
My brother come up Sunday morning and we headed to the mud to see what was happening since the bugs are starting to pop. There's definitely a lot of fish around out there. We fished one flat from 7:30-9 and caught 8 fish, 2 keepers, and missed 4. It slowed down for us from there with us trying 2 other flats and getting one fish on each. But we saw everybody catching fish here and there. We were back to shore by 11:30.
I thought that was you. I didn't get a good look because my brother was falling all over the boat with the waves, sea sick and missing fish. Poor guy, I really punished him. The kids handle the waves better than he does. They weren't even that bad.
