Where are you?

Where is everyone, it was almost like a ghost town out there for a Memorial Day weekend. Are gas prices really keeping people away? Is the new slot limit really keeping people away? It doesn't make much sense to me because I could have fished all weekend on 6 gallons of gas for the boat. You don't have to chase fish all over the lake right now. That's a God send for this time of the year. We got 5 keepers this weekend and that was more than enough for my family of 7. These fillets fill the bag quick. I'm baffled.

I am up for the first time ever this weekend.A group of 6 of us are staying in Isle Bay somewhere for the next week.We usually go to Leech Lake but decided to try something new inspite of all the lack of walleye rumors. We are driving from Indiana and are just looking to catch enough fish for a dinner or two.Any help or suggestions would be appreciated.

You got the new building coming along fine, so it is time for some decent open water fishing. See you guys soon when I am home in June. MM

Last weekend my family and I did rather well with the keeper walleyes. The 19" fillets sure are big compared to the 14" to 16". I think there may be more slot fish where I was fishing since there was less of a harvest by the native Americans.
