I was thinking about perch fishing this weekend any reports? Is the snow to deep to travel on four wheeler?

I understand the bite has been tuff but would still like to give it a shot.Thinking of going out of Liberty Beach public access or White Cap.Any info would be great mostly worried about travel and getting stuck.

Bring a good metal snow shovel with your gear. Chains help. There are a few cracks you'll need to jump, so you'll have to watch out for those and whatever heaves that are forming with the warmer weather.

I find follwing snowmobile tracks this time of year easier to get through this deep stuff. Also, remember that the heavy snow is sinking the ice in alot of places, so you'll find ALOT of water. Bring good waterproof boots

Some real wicked heaves and drifts. They're kinda hard to see, so don't be in too big a hurry. I'd stay away from Liberty 2-mile.  There's 6 foot drifts out there that will swallow ya. Make sure your cell phone has a good charge and bring a tow strap.

Good luck................................blankstare

You've got it, Tim. The drifting is what you'll have to look out for around where our houses were and crossing road berms.

Any of the spots out front of the points in the rocks 20-28 fow is where I'd start drillin' my holes, buddy. I wouldn't even waste the effort to go all the way out to 3-mile with these ice conditions. Plenty of bigger perch on the sand breaks.
