Their facebook page said 6-7 inches.  It didn't mention how far out.

I was watching them on the Bobber Cam and they went out of sight to the West / Northwest and to the Southwest.

We have colder weather forecast for several nights late this week.

I am liking it ~~ so far so good. smilewinkbiggrin

I have the Otter portable and my Marcum Showdown 5.6 ready and bangin at the garage door ...      to go fishing.

Plus: I have some nice cold ones as a gift to dedicate Glen and Doug's fabulous new boat house / garage.

Perfect....WTG go Glen. MM knows the way to Ertls playground & park.

Damn Mike, my Clam and Marcum are banging at the garage door as well! In fact my Clam is set up in the garage and I've set in side it trying to comfort it and calm it down. Yes I did, I can't wait. Can't wait for good ice to put my permanent house out.

Jon, you and the others at Hunter's, and the other ice wokers at all resorts, be safe!!!!!

Thanks Tat2Jonnie, that's a very nice video report outta Sandy Beach and Carlsona areas. Wow 26fow. WTG. Where is willie?

Hope you can coax a couple of large willie walleyes to come by there. smilesmilesmile

Good Luck with all your work down at Hunter's Point...It seems rather quiet there today on the web cam as you have all the aciton up near Red Door and Barnacle's lately. Malmo Mom says so too.

See you at the Red Door Waypoint Cafe in 2 weeks....I have to go calm down the Marcum Showdown system as it wants to be out on the ice of course walleye hunting...

We have a Big A** Blizzard in Colorado today --3-4 snow drifts and 43 mph winds. Kinda Ugly here on Monument Ridge.

Yeah......

Let's hope we can make it through tomorrow and Friday, then the wind drops down to nothing ......with even colder temps AND NO SNOW IN THE FORECAST!!!!!!clap.gif

At least the blizzard coming tomorrow is supposed to miss us to the south.

Nailbiter, ain't it?

I'm more concerned with the drop in air temperature. As cold as its going to get and limited snow cover, we are going to see the ice crack....someplace.

cold..ice contracts

warm...ice explans

Is it going to get that cold to make these cracks?

The forecast is for 17 mph tomorrow afternoon with gusts out of the northwest at 30 mph and colder temps.

http://www.windalert.com/en-us/Search/SpotInfo.aspx?spotid=1781&units_wind=mph&units_temp=f&units_height=ft&name

We'll have to have Wayne B. standing by with the rowboats again.............................

It was just about this time last year, when the ice cracked and we had 30 guys stranded past the crack on a twelve mile wide ice cube that was floating around for a month.shh.gif

When those guys got stranded last year, there was still open water.

Actually, what happened was the lake froze and got cold and cracked after we had 8 inches of ice. There was big wind for a couple of days and it piled the ice up on 2-mile and 3-mile and Piccard point in front of Bobber's place. That opened up 150 yards of open water. I remember, cuz the roads were all staked out and the ice mass shifted to the south, and when we finally got back out to 'em, they were 1/4 mille to the south.no

"They" in this case is going to be me and Marty.

We'll be checking roads again first thing in the morning and will have the results of the check done by 8:00am in time so anyone that wants to get out for the morning bite can do so. So far, we've found no cracks clear out to the flats that we've had a chance to inspect and stake. Of the 8 miles of road that we staked today, the ice thickness was a minimum of 6 inches, with alot of 8-9 inches all the way out and on all of our inner roads as well. All the snow has been blown off the surface of the ice, so bring your ice spikes!!!

We do have 6-8 inches of ice and are open to atv and snowmobile traffic. We have roads staked out to the mud. Make sure to stop in the resort before heading out so we can fill you in where we have checked.
