People that fish with me realize I dont hesitate to cut the line on hooks swallowed by the fish that will be released. my question is how long does it take for the fish to disolve the hook? a long time ago i was told about three days, does anyone have any comments on this?
It does take longer than 3 days, the survival rate is much greater by just cutting the line. If the fish lives as I have seen they do by catching fish with not just one hook but 2 hooks in its gullet. This fish must of been hungry caught at least three times.
People ask this question alot, as long as it lives right!
