Mille Lacs Regulations
(including tributaries to posted boundaries)
Regulations on this page effective May 10, 2014
Walleye: Two fish 18-20 inches. One may be longer than 28 inches.
Northern Pike: Ten fish. One may be longer than 30 inches. Season closes March 29, 2015.
Bass: Six total smallmouth and largemouth combined. One smallmouth may be longer than 18 inches. Season opens Saturday, May 10. Lake is exempt from mid-September catch-and-release smallmouth regulation. Bass may be caught through Sunday, Feb. 22, 2015.
Tullibee (Northern Cisco): Possession limit is 10.
Other Species: Follow statewide regulations.
No Culling
Night Closure: No fishing from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. Monday, May 12, through Monday, Dec. 1.

Tagged Fish: Please record tag number, species, fish length, date & place caught, angler type (e.g. boat, launch, shore, ice, etc.), and whether released (leave tag attached) or kept (send tag). Postcards are available at public accesses & businesses on Mille Lacs Lake. Fish can be reported by:
