the Sandman and me are still geting the fish following them out deeper. jigging spoon and a head. Gregs first 28in of the winter(released) and some nice eaters
Had my 7 year old up with me Saturday. It was a very tough start. We got up there early, and searched the whole north end from one side to the other and back. We didn't see a fish till 3 pm. The youngster was a trooper though, and the 23.5 that he pulled through the ice, his new biggest fish, was all it took to make his day. All the time with no action was forgoten at that moment for him. We caught another 23, and he got excited a few other times setting the hook himself just a little too soon. All in all we had a great time together on the ice for the day. He slept like a rock on the way home! Out of 3 older brothers and a younger sister he is my die hard fishin partner!
We had a great weekend too. Thanks to tat2jonnie for the new spot. We had a nice bag of fish to bring home. The girls had a blast. Some friends were in a rental out at 2 mile and some good luck too. It's hard to believe the great fishing still going in right now. Another friend limited out last in a hour and half.
It's never a dull moment fishing with the kids. But let me tell ya, it's getting tough for me to catch a fish during the day. They are getting quick and confident. Vivian nearly laid me.out to catch that fish in the pic below. I'm sure next year it will be a midnight bite for dad because my only chance will be when they're sleeping.
