I am bringing my boys with me (12 & 9) and we are fishing out of one of the resorts in the Isle area. Would anyone care to tell me what the 'must be fishing' times have been? I want to give them a chance to get off the ice and take some breaks but I want to make certain we are in the shack at the most opportune times.
They always bite when ya least expect it. And if they come through while you're gone, you missed the bite. Hungry walleyes travel in schools and they're always following the baitfish.
If you can get your bait down quick enough while they're coming through, you can catch a limit in 20 minutes.
i have been ice fishin millelacs for about 6 weeks now, i have caught fish at all times of the day as well as night, my advice to you is set your rattle reels or bobber rods 8-10 in off the bottom and jig with your other rod, i would try to convince the kids to stick and stay and make it pay, hopefully it is nice and warm where they can play ball or have a snowball fight so you can do some serious fishin, however i have been fishin the north end of the lake, good luck to you and your kids, please post the results of your trip, it helps us at home to here everyones progress when we cant be at the big pond
