Wanted to start a new topic based strictly on ice fishing lures.
There are thousands of lures out there. Each manufacturer represents each lure a little differently from the others.
The main focus of this topic is just to obtain information. Everybody has their favorites and their different ways to present the lure or lures when fishing. For example are some lures best used when dead sticking versus jigging.
Over time each lure seems to work or it doesnt and the same goes with color and size. not new to ice fishing by anymeans but like everyone else just trying to pass by some of the money wasters and just buy the right tackle.
so please come one come all please feel free to put your thoughts and experience on the line.
for perchin' and my money, nothing beats a green or purple ant, tipped with a fat red larvae. for walleye, I like to jig a rattlin' buckshot, tipped with a fathead head....pinched off with my fingers. on a deadsick or tip-up, a green leadhead jig with a lively shiner.
nuclear ants are amazing..... pink, white(glow), chart........ i got a couple black and blood red havent tried them yet.. perhaps i will tomorrow when i go out
Dont know for sure if portside carries the custom jigs and spins nuclear ant at all but i do know that you can get them off of the website. portside might have them tho
