I was just wondering when the latest date was that the resorts have pulled out houses?  I had been fishing on a small local lake by my home that had 7 good inches of ice.  As of last night it was once again white caps!!!

I was up at Hunter's this weekend and, if I remember right, George said the latest was January 6 for him. He also said last year was the earliest, December 18. I have a feeling that the record for the latest pull will be broken this year.

Thanks.  I thought it would have been later than January 6th.

Perhaps with the ten day forecast getting down to 3 degrees, the lake might refreeze enough for wheeler travel all over. Of course the lake would have to lock back in. The only day of concern is sunday the first with the wind being west to north west at above 20 miles an hour..... but should make good ice the rest of the week.... looking forward to getting up there.... 9 more days... perhaps the resorts might be in full pull by feb 1st
there are a lot of cracks out there that are going to need some serious time to heal.....

They pulled a few Rental Houses out today at Appledorn's Resort on Sunset Bay. winkhmm Thye ar evisible off of Big Point and Sunset bay.

That was asurprise to me.  hmmhmm but they are out there in a cluster...

At Hunter's:

They are staging a few houses on the shore line ice at Hunters Point this afternoon.  They will be visible on the web cam by the fish cleaning house.

That is UNOFFICIAL -- but I was there and discussed it with George at 3:30pm Thursday at Formica Flats. Hada nice cold one and walleye fingers.

Also -- I had to cancel my hgouse rental reservation for tomorrow as it is not happening YET. Bummer.

Some places got better ice than others. Nasty, dangerous cracks everywher, it seems. If you are heading out on the ice, folks, you better know what you're doin'. The rescue folks are'nt getting much family time these holidays.

Anyhow, on the brighter side, if you do find good ice, the fish are bitin'.

Here' a couple pics from the wheelhouse tonight.....

I'm tellin' ya..................secret weapon.

P.S. (Don't tell the Indianswink)
