Made it out on the ice again today to find around 4 1/2 inches of good clear ice! But we do have a 30 inch crack right next to shore and another one that is about 200 yards off shore....both are open and will be moving with the temperature change that is in the forecast!

Bobber,

Any predictions when the first houses will go out when factoring the 15 day forecast?

Open water patch again in the NW corner today( from the Harbor Inn to at least Pike Point about a half mile from shore), out from Myr Mar about a half mile from shore and a patch out from an area 1.5 miles west of Red Door. There must be open water in the middle someplace to allow these chunk of ice to move with the wind. (looks like a darker area on today's space shot of the lake that could be open) That ice will be only 1" or less tomorrow morning.....

The full moon was shining brite on the big open/waves area in the NW corner last night.

With the ice movement in some areas, off shore winds could make trolling from an ice hole possible...if you get my drift. The upwind side of the lake is where the potential trolling runs could take place. (don't ask why I know that)

We're not really behind last year nor the year before on the north shore. The first 4 wheelers went out on the 10th both years, for the first time. We could have close to 6 inches by Sunday?

I ain't mad enough at the fish to go yet! Maybe Monday?

..
