The Harvest Moon is now upon us. The walleyes are jumpin' in the boat. (We literally had one jump out of the water and into the boat) The place to tell is always the fish cleaning house at 11:00 at night...........
Howfy Jon and Howdy Doug, Dang those are some great fish fries you guys make!
The fish fry at Tat2jonnie's in August was fabulous. Of course, the Opener party and fish gourmet dinner at Doug's compound was a legend in its own time!
It is hard to compete with Doug or Jonnie on fish fries!
Malmo Mike is hopefully in a class of his own on the marinated elk however. I have a dandy elk roast for the next visit home.
Nice Job on the launch!! Oh yes.....T2J and Nate had the "Honey Hole" all lit up last night forsure! Or ya were just a tad south of the Honey Hole Jonnie......We caught some nice fish around there last night and did well again this morning pulling lead core out around 2 mile. I saw pics of a 57 X 26 muskie caught last night out on Lakeside 3/4......................"scary looking big fish"!!! HUGE...
I thought that was you trolling out there Saturday night. I should have sent you a text. We were trolling North of the launches and picking up one here and there. At 10pm they went crazy though and we hammered them for the next 2 hours. The biggest was 22" and the rest were cookie cutter 14-16 inchers. The weather was great too!
Sunday we pulled leadcore in the open basin and connected with a bunch of 6-15" walleyes, some perch, and a couple nice walleyes. Of course the biggest fish got off by the boat. It confirmed that there are still fish just about everywhere.
I think a midweek night trolling run is in order for this week, but its going to be a long day at work the next day.
