The rain that we experienced on Thursday took care of the snow cover that we had on the lake! Once the cracks and heaves heal up...the lake should sure up nicely! Make sure and bring your grippers with.....its going to be alittle slippery on the lake! Lets change that to "Its slippery" now.....10 deg's above zero and a wicked wind currently
I plan to head out and work on the access on our harbor in a few hours and chisel the ice piles down allowing my access again........things are busted up pretty good.......
watch the Hunters Facebook page and this site for the latest and greatest on the lake conditions!
I was on the lake yesterday morning. Most of the Ice was about 14" thick. The Icy spots were like grease. The visability was down to 100 yards at one time. I had brought my cold weather gear, but should have brought my rain gear. The roads were hard to find in the fog and with no snow banks. On the plus side I hooked an 18"er before leaving. This cold snap should smooth out some of the rough spots and help seal some of the cracks. Going in I had four other vehicles run up behind me.... Remember 10 MPH
