fishing report 7/26/10

The past week my fishing experiences have been pretty good to pretty slow. There has been some time periods during the day that the walleye have been the most active. That time period has been from 7-8am to as late as 10-11am. The mud flats have been my go to location as of late. My experience has been the fish are continuing to move about. Following them or relocating them has been a challenge to say the least! During the past week my best presentation continues to be rigging. I have been pulling 8-9 foot lindy rigs baited up with jumbo leeches on red hooks. The fish that have gone in the live well have been in the newly expanded slot also! We have caught some dandy 18-19 ½ inch fish. The largest walleye over the past week has been 27 inches. The spinner bite has continued to be slow for my boat. The only other presentation that has put some fish in the boat has been pulling lead core and cranks. The crank bait that still continues to put fish in the boat is a Lindy Shadling shiner #7. The 27 inch walleye was caught on it last Thursday.

This past week I have had the pleasure of sharing my boat with some great folks! Regan from Colorado and John from White Bear Lake are shown below with a couple of their fish that they enjoyed having cooked up down at Hunters Point after our half day trip. I hope you guys shared some of the left overs with fellow customers at the bar! Also shown below are Travis from Iowa and I can’t forget to mention my neighbor Bob who hopped in my boat for a morning trip to share some time...I just can’t believe that its almost August, the summer has just flew by. It won’t be long and we will be getting the fall trolling fix!

Bob told me that he almost asked me to go Saturday but figured I was to busy fixing the webcam. :(
And I still don't have it fixed and I missed out on a fishing trip with the Governor.
