The wife and I took friday off and headed up Thursday afternoon. We were greeted with bright sunny sky, flat calm lake and grass that looked like I haven't mowed all year, even though it was less than 7 days ago. Hmmm, what to do? mow lawn or.... So off we go and with those conditions I went deeper out to a nice little hump in 24ft of water. Marking fish right away, so why not set up and give'r a try. Got one bobber out and before I got the other one in whamo, a 27" was tugging at the G-Loomis. What a way to start the weekend. Not long after that a 25.5", sweeeet. After a couple more overs and a small one, moved in shallow a picked up a few small ones, nothing to keep that eve. but a whole lot of fun. Fri night there at least was a SW breeze, 3 of us went out and hammered the walleyes in 10-11 fow near shore, nice mix of keepers, and a few overs and small ones. Sat. eve was a little wierd in that a majority of my fish were overs, including another 27" (sorry no pic as I was by myself) and my son on one side of me seemed to be catching a majority of smaller ones, those pesy 13-13.5" and my neighbor on the other side had 7 or 8 decent keepers. What a fabulous weekend, doesn't get much better that that.
