I wanted to put a quick report along with a friendly reminder.
First the Perchin Report. We are starting to see more and more schools of jumbo perch over the past two weeks. We have had some really good guide trips over this time with lots of big perch.
Some things we have noticed this year is that it is very important to see bugs. There are lots of 4-6" perch in the lake right now along with the schools of jumbos. Wether you are catching the small or big fish, you want to see bugs in their mouths when you pull them up the hole. If you see bugs in their mouths you have found an area to keep fishing. If you don't see bugs, then keep drilling holes. Small northland buckshot or forage minnow spoons tipped with waxies or larvae have been the best for us.
A reminder for all of you that this weekend is our guide teams annual fishing weekend. Gary Roach, Tony Roach, and the entire guide team will be at Hunters Point for a great weekend of Jumbo Perchin! Friday night, each person in attendence will receive prizes from either Strikemaster, Northland Tackle or Frabill. After the prizes, we will be having a short seminar on Perch fishing tactics. Saturday and Sunday we will be hitting the ice for some exciting Jumbo Perch fishing. We will be giving out Augers, and some other great prizes for the people who catch the biggest perch. On top of prizes, seminars, and some great fishing, included in the weekend is your lodging and your food at Hunters Point Resort. The cost of the entire weekend is only $395 per person. If you are interested, make sure you call Jason at Hunters to reserve your spot before the trip is full.
We are keeping this to a small group for the reason of having alot of one on one time with our guide team. Each day on the ice, you will be in a small group (2-4 people) with a guide. The next day on the ice, you will have the chance to spend it with a different guide on our team.
The weather is going to be really nice. I promise you that this weekend will be a great time! Until this weekend....we hope to see you on the ice!
