Mud Report 1/22

Wow... what a tough day on the ice.

A couple guys and I met at Hunters Point to do some Eye fishing with bonus Perch and Tubilee. We hit a few mud flats and focused on the transition areas. Pounded holes from top of the break all the way out to 20 yards off the base of the break. One thing I can say... the perch and tubliee populations invading the mud flats is incredible! Every hole we dropped our flasher in had them stacked on the bottom. We did our best to try and locate the eyes... but was very difficult with the amount of clutter on the bottom. Some holes had active perch and tubliee, others did not. All in all, we ended the day with 3 eyes (1 thrown back), 2 tubliee kept including one that went close to 16", and 2 jubmo perch kept. We caught quite a few other tubilee as well as numerous dinky perch. There was enough action to keep us from getting bored... but we didn't get into the eyes as we had hoped. All walleye were caught out of holes that were also producing tubs and perch.
