Fishing Saturday

Bobber, Glen, Fife, Jim and I headed out the flats road Saturday morning out of Hunters after and excellent breakfast sandwich. Upon arrival I thought we where at 2 mile or one of the inshore reefs. Every flat was peppered with wheelhouses and portables. Good thing there are some good sized areas to fish out there. We set up and drilled a few holes and immediately had fish on the flashers. It was a slow day for us. We had a few small walleye and a couple tulipee. Glen had the camera down and watched a few walleyes just sitting on the bottom with no interest in our offerings. We just couldn't figure them out, confuse Oh well, there is always next time. I am sure someone got into them. Travel is pretty easy out there and the ice was in great shape but will make a few moves with this warm weather. Keep the speed down driving. And whoever lost all the beer cans (empty s)cry on the road we picked them up on the way in.

I was out on the flats somewhere in the mid lake region. Only had 2, one small and one big. 26 incher. Last weekend on the same spot and between 2 of us we had about 50 Walleyes and brought home our limit. I thought with the warmer weather, it would have been a better bite. Well, just have to try it again next weekend.

Fishing was "slow" Friday/Saturday with the Walleyes I did hook being 10-13"ers.
I had Perch come through on Thursday but only picked-up one 9"er. They keep my rattlewheel minnows busy for about 35 minutes, then were gone.
The warm weather sure brought out the the portables and day fishermen on. I had had
a dozen portables and three-four bucket fisheren working around the rocks
at 3 mile. I didn't see any fish, but there was a lot of action and I'm assuming
they were marking fish or would have moved. I also picked up a few left behind cans.
Some guys just don't care!
