A few of us went out checking the ice this morning and found pretty good ice for the most part.  The ice we found was pretty consistantly arond 8-9 inches.  We went out to 3 mile, Flamingo, Dawson, 2-mile. and it looked pretty good.  AGAIN LIKE ALWAYS IT IS EARLY AND WE HAVEN'T CHECKED EVERYWHERE AND IT DOES VARY SO USE CAUTION.  Tony Roach and I staked out a path this afternoon out to the mud flats. We consistantly had 9 inches the whole way.  We did however come across a spot that only had 4 inches, we did mark it off and marked a path around the bad spots, so again you must use caution. It looks like ATV's and snowmobiles are a go at this time.
