Gonna be at Father Hennepin this weekend so I will try doing some trolling. Have acouple of new jointed shad raps I wanna try out. Are the walleyes still biting on leeches and slips?
I'll be up on Saturday to test the day bite and hopefully the night bite. I was planning to start around your house, so I'm sure I'll see you. You might not recognize me in my new rig, but I'll get extra close.

I trolled a lot over the weekend and only 1 fish to show for it. Marked a ton of fish Saturday morning but, just couldn't get them to bite. Went back to the same area Sunday morning didn't hardly mark a fish. Talked to acouple of guys that were on a launch for half a day and only caught 4 perch and a rockbass. I just don't understand Mille Lacs lake at all. I think the guys that actually do catch fish are either lucky or just fish the lake a lot and know where to go to catch them.
We were out Saturday and did pretty well it sounds like. I really wanted to catch some fish on the rock/gravel transitions near Hunter's but couldn't get them to go. We marked alot of fish but only caught perch and a Northern. We headed out to the mud and off the third flat we checked, found a nice school of fish. I made the call that we were marking too many fish to not be catching them. Two seconds later one rod doubled over and a minute later we had a triple on our hands. 2 for the box and 1 over. It was already 4pm, but we fished until dark and ended up keeping 5, a half dozen nice perch, a couple nice northerns, and 3 or 4 walleyes in the slot. We were running shad raps on leadcore basically making circles and figure 8s between 3 small mud flats. The new boat trolled incredibly and we managed to get rid of that new smell and replace it with something a little more fishy. Actually we got a 7-8 lb. northern that made it a little too fishy. We were going to do some night trolling, but we forgot the headlamps.

Yep, it took awhile but we broke it in. The first fish in the box was a perch, then the Northern got slime on the floor, but we finally ended up with a nice mess of walleyes and perch. Actually we had two walleyes for the box flopping all over the boat as we quickly prepared to net the third to complete a triple. I have a couple tweaks to make, but next season should be fun.
