I had the opportunity to fish the IBEW again this year with my brother Doug and usually his father-in-law Jerry. Unfortunately Jerry had something come up and couldn't fish the tourney, after informing the Tourney Dir. that he could not make it, the Tourney dir. said that we should fish it anyways, thanks for that We headed out at 8:00 AM and first spot was off Hunters Point. We moved around there a little, anywhere from 11-14 fow, with plain red hooks with leeches. Doug boated 2 over fish at 19" right off (pic 1 & 2). I managed a 17.5" for the box. Then Doug boated a 17.75" for the box and then another over at 21.5". We then tried the rock pile off Picard Point. We boated a few "dinks", under 14", as there was a minimum size of 14" for the tourney. We tried the gravel, dragging snells too, but most of the marks on the depthfinder, showed fish that were more than likely overs. We hit Hunters again, and managed 2 more for the box. I caught 1 16.5" that swallowed my hook, in his mouth was 2' of line, with 4 sinkers and a hot pink hook right next to mine... He broke somebody off and then I got him !!!(pic 3) With 20 minutes left, we went back out to Picard and Doug boated our final fish for the box.... a 14.5". We ended up with 5 fish out of 15 for the box. 4 over fish were caught and the rest were all slot fish, with a few "dinks" The water temp was 60' consistently. It was little wind, mostly started SE and switched to NE, then straight East.... it was switching quite a bit. We stayed dry, until the last hour or so, when the rain moved in... it was welcomed. I would encourage anybody thinking about coming up to the big lake, to do it. Find a spot, them move a little bit, we would move 50 yards and it made a difference. We caught all our fish within a half mile of the resort. We ended up weighing 5 fish for 7.89 lbs, good enough for 4th place in the tourney !!! I want to thank the IBEW for holding the tourney and also for letting us fish with you guys, even if our actual IBEW member couldn't We met the wives(pic 4) at the resort for a few cold ones and the famous Glenny Pizza Thank god Doug took a picture of my winnings (pic 5) the picture is all I have left Got to chat with local celebrity Walleye fisherman Wally also (pic 6) Thanks again to the IBEW for putting on the tourney and also to George and Linda, for running a first class resort !!! See you on the water !!!
Congrats guys! We had pretty good luck bobber fishing the Rock Piles in 18 to 20 fow and a couple other areas in 10-14 fow - red hooks and leeches. Attached is a picture of Tyler with the three we were able to keep. Tyler caught a 23.5" and a 26.5" but the wind was blowing so hard we decided not too reach for the camera. Yes, he out fished me once again.....

Way to go Ertl Brothers! Glenn, I noticed that you didn't fish out of the Goose, yet you both managed to catch some nice fish! Very nice to collect some presidents once in a while but they sure don't last long. I hope to hit the Pond sometime this week-end to try a little late night fishing. Take care you guys.
